Several incidents of criminal damage by fire occurred on Monday afternoon.
Gardai have arrested a man in his 40s following several incidents of criminal damage by fire that occurred in the Coolock and Clarehall areas of Dublin on Monday.
At approximately 12:30pm on Monday, Gardaí received reports that a man had set fire to the outside of an apartment complex in the Newtown Court area of Coolock in north Dublin.
Shortly after, at approximately 12:55pm, the Gardaí arrested a man after two cars were set alight in the Templeview Green area of Clarehall Dublin 13.
The man is currently detained in Coolock Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
Investigations are continuing.
