No doubt there were all sorts of ‘whoever smelt it dealt it’ accusations flying around amongst the herd afterwards.

Although exaggerated, the original Dumb and Dumber illustrated just how potent the combination of flatulence and gas can be and it was shown once again in rather unfortunate and udderly ridiculous circumstances amongst the animal kingdom in Germany earlier today.

According to Reuters, methane gas from 90 flatulent cows exploded in a German farm shed on Monday, damaging the roof and injuring one of the animals.

In a statement regarding the incident, local police explained that high levels of the gas had built up in the structure in the town of Rasdorf in central Germany, then “a static electric charge caused the gas to explode with flashes of flames,” with one cow having to be treated for burns afterwards.

With only one cow out of the 90 suffering injuries, it could be said that the herd in question were let-off the hook and it goes without saying that their owner, moo must have been very relieved that they were alright, will have to take extra precautions if the animals are going to be at this sort of crack in future.
