Drumm is facing 33 charges.

Having fought against extradition from America back to Ireland for four months, David Drumm landed in Dublin Airport early on Monday morning to face his charges.

The former Anglo Irish CEO is facing a number of charges in relation to his involvement leading up to the 2008 financial crisis, including; false accounting, forgery and conspiracy.

It is believed that Drumm will continue to deny these charges, as well as seeking bail after appearing at Dublin District Court later today.

Drumm was brought directly to Ballymun Garda Station from Dublin Airport by waiting gardaí early on Monday morning.

The nationalisation of Anglo Irish in 2009 cost Irish citizens over €30 billion in taxes.

The 49-year-old had been in Boston since fleeing Ireland in 2009, where he set up a business that eventually forced him to file for bankruptcy; an application which was denied.
