This is mad…

Prior to reading this story, the only knowledge that JOE had of the dangerous substance ricin was from Breaking Bad.

The poison was Walter White’s drug of choice when he wanted to kill Tuco Salamanca and Gus Fring, however this account of it’s use is even stranger than fiction.

Actress Shannon Richardson, who had small roles in The Vampire Diaries and The Walking Dead, was originally arrested in June 2013 after she posted letters laced with ricin to Barack Obama as well as the former Mayor of New York and a lobbyist who is firmly in favour of gun control.

It appears the reason why Richardson sent these deadly letters was her staunch opposition to the Obama administrations attempts to tackle gun control and change the pro-gun attitude of some Americans.

JOE believes that the word nutcase is appropriate in this situation.

When the actress was originally caught she blamed her husband, however, Richardson has just pleaded guilty to possessing and producing the dangerous toxin.

The authorities have given her the maximum sentence of 18 years as well as a fine of of $367,000.

It emerged that Richardson was attempting to frame her estranged husband after obtaining a PayPal account and a post office box in his name. A signed plea document shows how she ordered castor beans from the internet, learnt how to turn them into ricin and then wrote chilling letters to her intended victims.

The letter to Obama read: “What’s in this letter is nothing compared to what I’ve got in store for you Mr President. You will have to kill me and my family before you get my guns. Anyone wants to come to my house will get shot in the face.”

JOE wasn’t surprised to learn that her husband has since filed for divorce. Upon receive the sentence Richardson told the court that, “I never intended for anybody to be hurt,I’m not a bad person. I don’t have it in me to hurt anyone.”

Sure love, who wouldn’t believe you?
