Safe and sound.

Cheeky Chops, an animal that was on the loose from Fota Wildlife Park has been found and returned to his home after he made a daring escape.

Reports emerged from Cork yesterday from Cork Safety Alerts that a monkey had been spotted on The Fota Road in Cork.

The cheeky monkey had escaped from the park and an escape protocol for Cheeky Chops had been put in place in order to help track down the monkey.

However, thankfully, good old choppers was found on Friday evening meaning everyone could breathe a sigh of relief.

Many people got in touch with the Park to tell them about sightings of the animal and this was a huge help in the search for the moving monkey.

Fota Wildlife Park put up a tweet on their page just after half five confirming that the monkey had returned back to his Cork home.

The tweet reads:

“Cheeky Chops, the Colobus monkey who made a daring escape has now been safely returned to his habitat – thanks to all who contacted us!”
