Very good news if you happen to be in the area.

In the past week, you may have heard about the petrol station in Galway that sold the winning Lotto ticket worth €8,549,06. Now, Corrib Oil in Loughrea is celebrating the massive event, and slashing their fuel prices for a limited time next week.

The amazing sale comes into effect at 8.50am on Tuesday (May 22), and will last no longer than 85 minutes — a celebration of the amount of money won on the ticket.

The huge jackpot is also reflected in the temporary price of the fuel — 85c per litre for the 85 minutes from 8.50am. The offer only applies to diesel and petrol sales, and will run up as far as €85 worth of fuel. It could be worth the journey if you’re anywhere nearby… you’re not going to get a price like that anywhere else for a while.

Pat Halligan Corrib Oil Service Station Manager said: “We are delighted to have sold the winning ticket to a lucky customer at our Loughrea service station, and are even more delighted to celebrate this win by dropping our fuel prices to just 85c per litre for a limited time on Tuesday 22nd of May.
