
Garda arrested at Dublin Airport after reportedly being caught with suspected cocaine
The female officer is in her 30s.
A female Garda was arrested in Dublin Airport on Thursday afternoon (20 April) after allegedly being caught with suspected cocaine, according to reports.
The Irish Mirror states that officers seized around €100 worth of suspected cocaine and that it is understood that the woman had been due to fly out of the airport prior to her arrest.
In a statement to JOE, a Garda spokesperson confirmed that a female in her 30s who is a serving member of An Garda Síochána in the Dublin region was arrested at Dublin Airport for alleged possession of a small quantity of suspected controlled drugs.
They said:
"A female in her 30s was arrested by Gardaí yesterday afternoon, Thursday 20 April 2023, at Dublin Airport for alleged possession of a small quantity of controlled drugs (analysis pending). She was taken to Ballymun Station and later released without charge. The drugs will be forwarded to FSI [Forensic Science Ireland] for analysis.
"The female concerned is a serving member of An Garda Síochána based in the Dublin region.
"No further information is available at this time. Enquires are ongoing."
