Gardaí appealing for witnesses to cash-in-transit robbery in Dublin

The incident took place in the very early hours of Tuesday morning.

Gardaí at Kevin Street in Dublin are appealing for information and witnesses following a cash-in-transit robbery.

The incident occurred at Cornmarket in Dublin 8 at approximately 5.20am this morning (Tuesday 10 December).

It is reported that a lone male approached and threatened two security staff members outside a financial institution.

The man then fled for the scene on foot with a cash box containing an undisclosed sum of cash.

It is understood that the man was armed with a hand gun.

Security staff were delivering cash to an ATM outside the bank when the robbery occurred.

No shots were fired and there was no one physically harmed during the incident.

At the time of writing, no arrests have been made, and enquiries are ongoing.
