The video was initially posted on TikTok, and has since been shared widely across a number of social media platforms.

Gardaí are now appealing for witnesses following a racially motivated incident on The Royal Canal.

The incident in question saw a woman shoved into The Royal Canal in Dublin, after having allegedly been racially abused.

Footage of the video has been shared widely, and it shows the woman asking a group of boys to stop racially abusing her, before she is shoved into the canal.

Gardaí have confirmed that the incident took place between Lock 11 and 12 of The Royal Canal, Dublin 15, at approximately 7.25pm on Friday (14 August).

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and are asking that anyone with information in relation to this incident should make contact with investigating Gardaí at Finglas Garda Station.

In particular, Gardaí are looking for anyone who may have mobile phone footage or a voice recording of the incident.
