Gardaí arrest man over eviction dispute in Roscommon which left eight people injured

As part of investigations into an incident at Falsk, Strokestown on 16 December 2018, Gardaí have arrested a 54-year-old man. The man was arrested in Mayo and is currently detained at Castlerea Garda Station under the provisions of Section 30 – Offences Against the State Act 1939. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.Security personnel working for KBC bank at the house in Roscommon were attacked by a group of people in December.
A gang armed with baseball bats stormed the house at Falsk near Strokestown, from which a family had been evicted days earlier, beating the security personnel inside.
Eight people were injured in the attack, three of whom required treatment in hospital. Four vehicles were also burned out and one dog was killed.Explore more on these topics:
