Gardaí arrest two men following armed robbery at Wexford post office

Gardaí investigating an armed robbery at Post Office in Bridgetown, Co. Wexford, have arrested two men.

According to a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána, yesterday morning (4 February) at approximately 10:30am two men entered the Post Office, one armed with a knife and the other with an iron bar, dressed in high viz clothing and motorcycle helmets.

They demanded cash and threatened staff before leaving the premises with an undisclosed amount of money. They then left the scene in a black car.

No injuries were reported from the scene.

Gardaí have since confirmed that two men have been arrested in connection with the incident. Their names have not been made public but the organisation has confirmed that both men are in their 20s.

They are both currently detained in Wexford Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
