The incident is believed to have happened last Thursday.
Gardaí are investigating the alleged rape of a female student on the Belfield campus of University College Dublin (UCD) last week.
The incident is reported to have taken place on the UCD campus, close to O’Reilly Hall, one of the biggest buildings on campus.
A Garda spokesperson said that they are investigating an alleged sexual assault at UCD on Thursday, 24 November between the hours of 10am and 11.30pm.
A spokeperson for UCD Students’ Union, meanwhile, said: “We have brought all reports of a sexual assault on campus to the attention of the University Registrar, Campus Services, Campus Security and Student Support Services.
UCD Students’ Union have posted notices on their Facebook and Twitter accounts in recent days regarding a ‘Walk Safe’ campus service that students can use if they would like to be be escorted from one campus location to another by a member of UCD security.
