The man’s body was found following reports of an attempted break-in.
Gardaí in Mountjoy are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a body in St. Michael’s Road, Drumcondra, Dublin 9 on Saturday night (8 August).
The man is believed to have been 50 years old, and Gardaí say he was found in his own home.
According to a spokesperson for the Gardaí, the discovery was made after Gardaí received reports that “a number of men were trying to break into a house at 11pm.” When Gardaí arrived at the scene there were “no other persons present” and the body of the man was located in the house.
The body remains at the scene at this time and the Coroner has been notified and the State Pathologist will visit the scene later this morning.
