Gardaí are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a dead body in Cork.

According to a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána,  Gardaí in Dunmanway are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a body of a man outside a house at Direens, Dunmanway, West Cork this morning (8 December) at approximately 10.30a.m.

The man is believed to have been in his 50s.

The body hasn’t yet been moved from the scene as examinations are taking place, but will soon be moved to Cork University Hospital where a post mortem will take place.

The man has not yet been identified.

The Gardaí have further specified that the results of the post mortem examination will “determine the course of the investigation.”
