There is an open appeal for witnesses to the incident.
Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision on the N3 at Bunn, Belturbet, in County Cavan.
The collision happened around 6.20pm on Friday 9 March.
A man in his late 40s was killed when his car was in a collision with an articulate truck.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the truck was not injured.
The road at the scene remains closed at the time of writing, to facilitate an examination of the crash site by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
Gardaí in Belturbet are appealing for witnesses.
This brings the total number of road deaths in 2018 so far up to 28, which is down from the 33 road deaths at this same time in 2017.
