The driver had already been disqualified.
An Garda Síochána took to Twitter on Monday to share a photo of the damage done by a drink-driver to their own vehicle.
The tweet read: “Naas Roads Policing Unit arrest disqualified driver for drunk driving at Carbury, 10 times over the limit and caused collision. Brought straight to court. Fined and now disqualified for 6 years.”

Several commentators on social media were quick to point out that the driver was already disqualified at the time of the collision and that it hadn’t proved too much of a deterrent to them getting back behind the wheel.
