The rule of lightning never striking twice doesn’t apply to the Roads Policing Unit, sadly.
Gardaí probably had their patience tested a bit on Thursday morning in Naas after accidentally finding themselves embroiled in a game of Whack-a-Mole: Irish Motorists Edition.
In Naas, County Kildare, the Roads Policing unit pulled over a silver people carrier for having no tax, insurance or NCT.
Once it had been compounded and towed away, the motorist paid their fee. However, within the space of two hours, the same driver was back out on the road.
Attempting to avoid Gardaí in Naas this time, the vehicle was seized and impounded by the Roads Policing unit. On top of this, the motorist will now face two charges in court.
They only really have themselves to blame…
