Gardaí renew appeal for missing head of statue at church in Tipperary

It is believed that the statue’s head was taken during the summer of this year.

Gardaí in Thurles are renewing their appeal for any information in relation to the criminal damage of a 100-year-old statue at the Cathedral of Assumption in the town.

It is believed that the incident occurred sometime between 6.30pm on Wednesday 26 June and 6.30am on Thursday 28 June 2019.

The statue, which stands to the front of the Cathedral, had its head removed.

Gardaí are appealing to any persons who were in the vicinity of the cathedral between those dates, who noticed anything unusual happening or any details that can assist the investigation to contact Thurles Garda Station on 0504 – 25100, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
