It is the third such incident in the space of a week.
A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána confirmed to JOE that Gardaí are in attendance at the scene of a shooting incident that took place in the Kilbarron Avenue area of Coolock at roughly 3.30pm in the afternoon (28 May).
It was originally reported that a man had been critically wounded in the incident, however, RTÉ has since confirmed that the man was fatally wounded after he was shot in the head.

The incident follows two other fatal shootings that happened less than 24 hours apart in the same region of Dublin last week.
