Gardaí have seized a loaded revolver from two men in Dublin on Saturday afternoon.
The seizure follows ongoing investigations into organised crime and threats to life in the Dublin Region.
As a result of these investigations, Gardaí from the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB), Special Crime Task Force and Crime and Security arrested two men and also seized a loaded revolver from their possession.
Gardaí arrested both men, who were in their late 20s and early 30s, in the Dublin 3 area on Saturday.
They were taken to Garda Stations in North Dublin where they are currently detained under Section 30, Offences Against the State Act, 1939.
Last month, Gardaí also seized a loaded firearm and ammunition from man’s backpack at train station in Limerick.
