Gatwick Airport said it had suspended all flights due to an air traffic control system problem.
Update, 10 July, 7.30pm, : Following an earlier air traffic control systems issue, flights to and from Gatwick have now resumed. If you are travelling this evening please check the status of your flight with your airline before travelling to the airport, as we return to full operations.

Due to an air traffic control systems issue in Gatwick’s control tower, flights are currently suspended at the airport.
In a statement issued by the airport, Gatwick said that it was working “to rectify this issue as quickly as possible”, and that some of their flights have been diverted to other airports.
The suspension has been in place since roughly 5pm on Wednesday.
Gatwick shared the news on their official Twitter page on Wednesday evening.
