George Michael has passed way at the age of 53. The news came on Christmas Day evening and was made official by his publicist. Thames Valley Police confirmed that South Central Ambulance Service attended a property in Goring in Oxfordshire at 13:42 GMT. There were no suspicious circumstances. Michael was born Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou, and he sold more than 100 million albums in a career that began with his involvement in Wham and lasted four decades. A statement read: "It is with great sadness that we can confirm our beloved son, brother and friend George passed away peacefully at home over the Christmas period.
