Gardaí have successfully extradited a man from Spain on a European arrest warrant in connection with the fatal shooting that took place at Dublin’s Regency Hotel five years ago.
32-year-old David Byrne was shot dead during the incident at the hotel on 5 February, 2016.

A statement from An Garda Sióchána confirms that the man was arrested by a senior investigator from Ballymun Garda Station upon arrival at Casement Aerodrome in Baldonnell on Wednesday evening, 29 September.
The domestic arrest warrant was issued by the Special Criminal Court for the murder of David Byrne.
The man will appear before that court on Wednesday night in connection with the investigation.
