Weather this week

Get the fire on.

It’s October and we’re getting some October weather over the next while.

For the rest of Saturday, it will be rather cloudy with scattered showers with these most frequent in the west and along east coasts.

It will brighten up in the north and northwest during the afternoon.

Sunday will be a chilly, bright and mostly dry day with good sunshine around the country, especially in the morning.

But Sunday night will be cold and dry in most places, but it will be cold with temperatures dropping to minus one in places and there will be frost and fog developing.

Mist and fog may linger in some areas on Monday morning, but these will clear gradually throughout the day to give way to a mostly dry day with temperatures of between 10 and 13 degrees.

Monday night will see temperatures drop back to around zero degrees again with frost developing in some areas.

Met Éireann said that it will become milder and more unsettled later in the week.
