Great news… we guess.
Ireland’s heatwave may be finished but the effects of the hot weather are still lingering in the country with soil moisture deficits remaining high over east Munster and parts of Leinster with growth continuing to be restricted.
But elsewhere, soil moisture deficits have reduced due to recent rainfall but are still generally higher than normal.
But enough about soil…
We might not necessarily be getting back to the weeks of high temperatures we had earlier in the summer, but there’s going to be some toasty temperatures in parts of the country this week.
While Tuesday will be mostly cloudy, there will be good dry spells around the country apart from some scattered showers in the northwest. It will be humid and temperatures will range from 18-21 degrees.
But on Wednesday, temperatures will climb even higher as in some areas. Most likely in the east, temperatures could reach a very warm 23 degrees and perhaps even 24 degrees for a time. It will again be a humid day with occasional outbreaks of rain and drizzle but with some good dry spells.
As we continue towards the weekend, things will get slightly cooler with Thursday having sunny spells in the south and east but there’ll be mostly scattered showers for the rest of the country. Rain will get more persistent on Friday with the north and west being the most affected. But eastern areas will be mainly dry with some sunny breaks.
The weekend promises to be cloudy and breezy. Scattered showers will hit and they may turn to heavy rain in the west but most areas should experience good dry spells as well according to Met Éireann.
