A US pharmaceuticals company, Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, plans to set up a new production facility in the Raheen Business Park, Limerick, by the end of 2016.

There has been some good news on the jobs front this morning as one of the fastest growing pharmaceuticals companies in the US hopes to set up shop in Limerick over the next three years.

The project, which is being supported by IDA Ireland (who were in the news recently) will be set up on the old Dell site, which has been vacant since 2009, according to the Irish Times.

The project will see 600 temporary construction jobs being brought to Limerick for a two-year period while Regeneron Pharmaceuticals hopes to employ 300 full-time staff that includes scientists, engineers, technicians and administrative personnel.

If Regeneron Pharmaceuticals gets the planning permission for the project it will become their second largest industrial production site. Isn’t it nice to have a bit of good news during the week?
