Knock

It’s been a good Monday for Knock Airport.

The Mayo hub was buoyed by news earlier today that it would receive an additional €2.3 million worth of funding from the Department for Transport, Tourism and Sport.

This news has been followed by Ryanair’s launch of Knock’s permanent route to Bristol, which began today. The route will operate 3 times weekly for both Summer and Winter 2018.

Not only that, but Ryanair has also confirmed that its 2018 Knock summer schedule will deliver a new route to Girona, Spain beginning on June 2.

Also included in the summer schedule are 12 routes in total including Alicante, Faro, Malaga & Tenerife and 46 weekly flights. Ryanair expects this schedule to accommodate 585,000 customers per annum.

In a statement, Ryanair’s Eimear Ryan said:

“We are delighted to launch our extended Bristol service, which will operate three times weekly, all year round. Ireland West Airport Knock customers and visitors can choose from 12 exciting summer 2018 routes, to and from Italy, Portugal, Spain and the UK, and always on the lowest fares.”

Similarly, Donal Healy of Ireland West Airport Knock said:

“Ireland West Airport are delighted with the news that our popular Bristol service will operate all year round from this October. Our Bristol service has been operating for 8 years now and provides excellent connectivity to and from the beautiful South West Coast of England.”
