Nice news with Christmas approaching.

With the Christmas season upon us, there’s some good news for people looking for work with 340 positions set to open in Cork, Limerick and Dublin.

To begin with, GE Healthcare are set to create 140 new jobs as part of a $40m investment in its manufacturing facility in Carrigtwohill, Cork.

GE Healthcare currently employs 500 people in East Cork and the new additions are expected to double the companies production capacity.

Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton TD said: “Manufacturing is a key sector which we have targeted as part of our Action Plan for Jobs. This is an area which was neglected in recent decades but we have put in place a range of measures to support growth and in recent years we have seen a strong jobs performance.”

Staying in Munster,  Limerick Institute of Technology is set to expand its payroll with 100 full time positions being made available as the campus grows its Coonagh Cross location for engineering and pharmacutical students. 134 additional jobs will also be offered during the construction phase.

Finally, 100 new positions are being created at digital communications company, Neopost in Citywest in Dublin.
