Great news as Met Éireann predicts scorcher – time to get on the hot pants everyone

And lash on the Factor 90 while you're at it...

And lash on the Factor 90 while you’re at it…

This makes JOE happy. Not the fact that you’re going to be wearing hot pants mind you, but because Met Éireann has predicted that the sun will be out in force on Thursday as temperatures could reach highs of 20C.

According to a report in The Irish Mirror, the excellently-named Met Éireann spokesman Harm Luijkx (whose parents clearly wanted him to grow up to be a Bond baddy) said, “after our recent spell of low pressure, there are strong signals that a period of high pressure is building. On Thursday temperatures will be high throughout the country, mostly in the high teens.”

“It could even get up to 20C – which is a couple of degrees above average for this time of year. The sun will continue on Friday, with temperatures in the high teens. It won’t be quite as hot as Thursday but there will be dry sunny spells for most of the day.”

Yay.

Unfortunately, however, the sun will be fecking off come the weekend, as Mr Luijkx continued saying that “it will begin to deteriorate on Saturday. It will be much cooler and there will be outbreaks of rain, particularly in the west.”

Booooo. Ah Harm Luijkx, you give with one hand and you take away with the other… Still though, hot pants.
