Great news everybody! It looks like Ireland could be set for another heatwave

Please, please, please, let it happen...

Please, please, please, let it happen…

We know the weather was pretty atrocious in some parts of the country over the weekend. JOE even had the pleasure of an outspoken taxi driver telling us “the summer is over, that’s it now for the rest of the year” but Mr Negative might be eating some humble pie if the latest reports are to be believed.

According to Met Éireann, there is a band of high pressure from the north and over Scandinavia expected to push down over Ireland next week, which could cause temperatures to reach about 23°C or 24°C.

Met Éireann forecaster and suave TV weather presenter John Eagleton is telling us to be positive but not to get carried away,

“It would be a bit premature to say we’re definitely looking at another heatwave but certainly we shouldn’t give up hope. The high pressure is there so it could develop over Ireland.”

This is exactly what is happening in JOE Towers right now…
