Great news everyone! Met Éireann have issued a sunburn warning!

Carl Kinsella

How do you know the weather is truly good? When it can burn your skin.

Yesterday,  Met Éireann made our whole week by telling us that temperatures would be hitting highs of 21 degrees this week. Today, they’ve put the icing on the cake – and the icing is melting, because it’s so warm.

Met Éireann have issued a moderate sunburn warning, but that’s not even the best part. It’s a countrywide warning, meaning that everyone in the country is going to be getting some sunshine!

So slap the Factor 60 suncream on your pasty Irish skin, get yourself a big filthy 99 ice cream and go enjoy the sun’s annual visit. God knows by next week we’ll be getting pelted with hail again.

Also, is anyone going to address the fact that this comes right on the back of Danny Healy-Rae’s comments that God controls the weather? Maybe the Kerry TD has talked our way into the big man’s good books…
