Ireland weather warning

Yes, we’re aware it is still VERY warm out…

A bit like hitting your funny bone after breaking one wrist but before you break your second wrist, today is set to be the temperature low-point in between the two peaks of Ireland’s current heatwave.

Last week saw the country reach some of the highest temperatures in decades, coming within striking distance of the all time high temperature of 33.3 degrees, which was set back in the late 19th century.

It was been pretty relentless with the heat since then, but today looks set to be your brief moment of respite…

… because it is to begin climbing all over again.

As we reported yesterday, Met Éireann are predicting the temperatures to shoot up over the weekend, and that has been backed up by the following forecast by Midlands Weather Channel:

“The highest temperature record for the island or Ireland may well be broken this coming weekend!

“Latest weather charts indicate that an area of high pressure will become stationary over he country this coming weekend, which will ensure light winds, clear skies and sunny spells throughout.

“Temperatures will break the 30 Degree mark widely across the Midlands with perhaps some areas pushing towards a record equaling, or even record breaking, 33.3 degrees Celsius.”

So if you were looking for a bit of a break from the heat, today looks like it will the best you’re gonna get for a while.
