Here’s where you can watch Hurricane Ophelia’s winds approach Ireland

Carl Kinsella

Eight of Ireland’s counties are currently under a Red level weather warning as Hurricane Ophelia approaches.

While Ireland’s west and south coasts batten down the hatches, the rest of the country can also expect to be affected. Met Éireann has issued an Orange warning for the rest of the country, and the public has been warned against making any unnecessary journeys.

Anyone who can’t wait to see Ophelia up close, though, can check the swirl of wind fast approaching Ireland on this website.

The storm is currently to the southwest of the island but is expected to reach Ireland by Monday morning. It will take almost a day to pass over the Ireland.

The red patch in the below still is where the hurricane is at present, but by checking out this website you can watch the storm approach in real time.
