Ireland has been in the grip of one weather warning or another since the start of the weekend, and a nationwide yellow warning is in effect until 10am today thanks to temperatures dropping as low as -4 degrees Celsius.

Temperatures that low have seen ice, black ice and frost develop on roads across the country, meaning that conditions remain treacherous for motorists this morning.

AA Roadwatch has been keeping tabs on roads where there have been reports of black ice or similarly dangerous conditions and have published a list of routes where drivers should be especially careful.

“CONNACHT

In Mayo, it’s still slippery on secondary routes in Claremorris, Foxford, and Swinford, with Gardai reporting black ice in parts.

It’s still very icy on many routes around Roscommon Town and county.

Frosty conditions have been reported in Carrick-on-Shannon in Leitrim and around Sligo Town.

ULSTER
