Start making those plans.

After the adverse conditions of Storm Callum, it appears that the Irish weather has regained some of the consistency that we’ve come to expect. By this we mean that the weekend’s conditions are set to be the usual mix of the good, the bad and the rainy.

Here’s what the people at Met Éireann are expecting over the next few days,

Friday is set to start with some sunny spells throughout the country, but it’s going to be mainly cloudy with patchy rain and drizzle, mainly in the west and north.

This evening is set to be dry and cloudy with the odd spot of light drizzle occurring. Mist or fog in parts too. Mild, with lowest temperatures of 8 to 12 degrees Celsius, with just light southwest breezes.

Saturday morning will be mild and humid with a lot of dry weather expected. As the day develops, some of the western counties should experience patchy rain or drizzle, with hill and coastal fog anticipated.

There will be also be some sunny breaks, with the best chance of these developing in the midlands and eastern counties.

Patchy rain and drizzle will become more widespread on Saturday night and early Sunday as it gradually moves into the west and north, extending to other areas overnight.

Sunday is set to be dull and damp, locally wet in the north and northwest.

Drier and brighter conditions will develop later on Sunday morning as moderate northwest breezes set in, with conditions fresher along west and northwest coasts.

It’s expected to cold and dry overnight (lows of 2 to 6 degrees Celsius) with some grass frost, mainly in the east and south. Patches of mist too.

All things considered, this weekend’s weather is a fairly mixed bag, but given the recent conditions we’ve experienced, it’s an improvement.
