Here’s what the weather looks like this weekend

irish weather

Here’s what’s coming.

We’re fairly confident in saying that plenty of Irish people have absolutely no idea what to think during this recent spell of weather. It’s humid but still clammy. It’s raining but still warm. The sun is out and yet, I’m getting a sniffle. The heat is great, but I can’t get to sleep.

All perfectly valid statements to make because despite the fact that a Status Yellow warning is in place for Leinster and Munster, the weather still looks like a mixed bag.

Here’s what’s expected over the coming few days, as stated by the people at  Met Éireann.

Scattered outbreaks of misty rain and drizzle are expected later this evening but it’s set to become drier and brighter as the good conditions gradually extend southwards. Highs of 17 to 21 degrees with most areas becoming clear and dry overnight.

Some fog patches may form around dawn though.

Moving into Saturday now and the morning should be largely dry and bright with sunny intervals. Cloud is set to increase across northwest Ulster during the day though with some patchy light rain /drizzle near coastal areas. Highs of 17 to 23 degrees, warmest across Munster but it’s expected to be a humid day for most of the country.

Some bright or sunny spells at times, but cloudy, misty, damp periods too.

As for Saturday night, it’s set to be mild and misty overnight with some patches of drizzle developing along the northwest coast. Most other areas should be dry though with the lowest temperatures at 11 to 14 C.

Sunday will see similar conditions with a humid day expected. It’s set to be rather cloudy and misty generally, with scattered patches of drizzle and fog – mainly over Ulster and Connacht.

This being said, dry and bright spells will develop too, with sunshine coming through at times.

Highs of 18 to 20 C in the majority of northern and western areas, but values in the low to mid-twenties elsewhere.

If you’re out and about, enjoy the weekend.
