High turn-outs being reported across the country in #MarRef

Thousands of people have been voting today, with ten hours left to cast your vote

High voter turn-outs have been reported across the country as Ireland goes to the polls.

Thousands of people have been casting their votes in both the Marriage Equality and Presidential Age referendums across the country.

Polling stations are open until 10pm tonight, with voters warned not to take any selfies in polling stations, or wear/carry any campaign material while voting.

You vote by placing an ‘X’ in the box beside YES or NO on each ballot paper. Writing anything else on the ballot paper could result in a spoiled vote.

Finally, don’t forget to bring identification.

Overall turnout is expected to be high for a referendum which has exercised the country like no other in the history of the state.
