Three people rushed to hospital following hit and run on Sunday

Anyone with information is urged to come forward.

Gardaí are appealing for information following a serious hit and run road traffic collision which occurred on Sunday morning.

The incident happened in Ardee in Louth when a silver Vauxhall Vectra mounted the footpath on Market Street just after 1am on Sunday morning.

Two women in their 20s and one man in his 50s were struck by the car which failed to stop and fled the scene.

The car was later found crashed and abandoned a short distance away.

The three injured were taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda to be treated for various injuries, although the injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Investigating Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have information or dash cam footage to contact Ardee Garda Station on 041-687 1134, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
