Gardaí investigate hit and run that left man seriously injured in Dublin city centre

A number of men are believed to have got out of the car and assaulted the man.

The hit and run collision occurred in Dublin city centre in the early hours of Friday morning.

Gardaí are investigating a hit and run traffic collision and an alleged assault on Parnell Street in Dublin city centre shortly after midnight on Thursday night.

The hit and run collision occurred at the junction of Hill Street in Dublin 1 at approximately 12.20am on Friday morning, 14 July.

A man in his 40s was discovered with serious injuries following the incident and was removed by ambulance to The Mater Hospital.

Gardaí believe that the man was struck by a green or blue coloured Audi saloon car which left the scene in the direction of Summerhill. Witnesses also allege that a number of men got out from this car and assaulted the man.
