At least three people were killed after a gunman took hostages at a supermarket in southern France on Friday.
According to AFP, a gunman is reported to have taken several people hostages and shot a policeman at a supermarket in the south of France.
At least three people are reported to have been killed in the incident, while the gunman was eventually shot dead after security forces stormed the building.
The French interior minister paid tribute to a member of the security forces who substituted himself for a hostage at the scene and was badly wounded as a result.
