Hottest day of the year set to hit Ireland this week

We enjoyed a fairly toasty weekend, but sun worshipers will be glad to hear that the warmest day of the year is still yet to come.

According to Met Éireann, this coming Wednesday is set to be the warmest day of the year so far with temperatures set to rise as high as 25C in some places.

The high temperatures should persist throughout the week from Monday to Thursday, while Friday and the weekend might see some slightly cooler weather thanks to some scattered clouds, particularly across the northern half of the country.

The good news looks to continue into next week too, as Met Éireann reports: “A similar temperature profile is likely across the country next weekend and there will be mixed amounts of cloud and sunny intervals generally. While most of the country will remain dry, some light showery rain may occur at times in northern counties later in the weekend.”

Better crack out the sunscreen, lads…
