As it does every year, pornography giants Pornhub have revealed the trends and favoured categories of the British and Irish public across the last 12 months.
The most popular adult site in the world has revealed its 2024 Year in Review, and with it revealed what those of us in Ireland were looking for most when getting up to a little me time.
The same stats were revealed for those across the Irish Sea, so we thought it might be interesting to compare the viewing habits of both sets of citizens.
Coming in first place (pun not intended) for the UK was the classic ‘MILF’, followed by ‘lesbian’ in the second spot.
It seems that Brits know what they like and aren't fond of change, as these top 2 spots were the exact same as last year.
The script was very much the same in the Emerald Isle, ‘MILF’ emerged as the phrase in everyone’s mind over the past 12 months.
The other four top categories in Ireland included lesbian, mature, transgender and anal.
The big surprise came when Ireland's top trending searches of 2024 were revealed.
‘Real British Milf’ was up 537% on the previous year, with the specificity of ‘British’ becoming a much-talked about factor on social media.
The terms ‘oiled up’ and ‘Irish joi’ were also searched an astounding number of times, while the ‘neighbour factor’ came up again when ‘British Blonde’ showed a 304% increase.
It seems those in the UK like to keep their adult interests close to home, as 'British Blonde', 'British Couple' and 'English Milf' showed up as the top three most searched terms on the site.
So no 'Real Irish Milf' just to square things up from the Brits. Food for thought.
Ireland ranks within the top 50 countries in the world for site usage, with most people staying on Pornhub for an average of 10 minutes and 48 seconds.
Pornhub’s Year in Review also illuminated who each country’s favourite porn stars were in 2024.
Again, it was full of commonality as Elle Brooke came in first for both nations, followed by Lily Phillips in second.
Third and fourth were identical too, with Lana Rhoades and Lana White joining the top 5 respectively.
The only difference came in the fifth spot. Sky Bri got the nod in the UK while social media star Bonnie Blue featured at number five for the Irish.
The term 'Indian' grew exponentially for the UK when compared to the previous year. That term saw an increase of 63% while it didn't feature at all in Ireland.
So there you go, despite our differences the Irish and the Brits can forever find a common ground in our shared love of pub culture, tea and British milfs.
