Fair play to them...

Leaving Cert

Some kind of witchcraft at play here…

For anyone who has taken the Leaving Cert, you’ll know there’s a certain amount of rivalry between siblings over who can get the highest marks.

If your older sibling beats you, you will no doubt here about it any time the question of intelligence comes up in your house… usually during a quiz show like The Chase or Tipping Point.

We can just imagine, “Yeah, well what did you get in your Leaving? … Thought so”

Back in your box.

We can only imagine what the rivalry would be like if our twin was doing the exams the same time as us.

That’s exactly what happened with Patrick and Cathal O’Brien, who are identical twins from Carlow.

The twins have studied together in Clongowes Wood College for six years and when they got their results on Wednesday, as luck would have it, they both received 554 points according to the Leinster Leader.

The 18-year-olds are hoping to attend Trinity College in Dublin, with Cathal aiming for computer science and Patrick looking to do physics.

Well done to them both.
