Wait, what?

An investigation has been launched after suspected human waste was found in drinks cans delivered to a Coca Cola plant in Northern Ireland.

Production at the plant was interrupted last week when workers discovered what appeared to be human waste in cans at the plant in Knockmore, near Lisburn in Co Antrim.

A spokesperson from Coca Cola told RTE that the matter is being treated very seriously and an investigation is being conducted alongside the PSNI.

The company also said that this is an isolated incident and does not affect any products on sale with all of the affected batch immediately impounded.

“The problem was identified immediately through our robust quality procedures and all of the product from the affected batch was immediately impounded and will not be sold,” they said.

“This is an isolated incident and does not affect any products currently on sale.”
