Ireland will see some seriously tropical weather in the coming days

Tony Cuddihy

If you think the weather today is warm, you’ve seen nothing yet.

We knew the next few days were going to be glorious, but we had no idea we’d be looking at temperatures approaching 30 degrees by the middle of next week.

First of all, it’s going to be dry as a bone for at least the next week, as a spell of high pressure keeps the rain away.

By late next week, we could be in official heatwave territory.

“There is high pressure going to dominate our weather for at least the next 10 days, which will mean that in general our weather will be dry with good sunshine for much of the time,” Gerry Murphy of Met Éireann told The Irish Times.

“You would expect temperatures to be in the mid-to-high 20s by the middle of next week.”

Friday and Saturday should see highs of 20 and 21 degrees respectively, before the dial hits 24 degrees and higher from Sunday onwards.
