It is believed that 157 people were aboard.

Ethiopian Airlines have said they expect there were no survivors after one of their planes crashed en route to Nairobi, Kenya, this morning (10 March).

Contact was lost with the flight just six minutes after take-off in the city of Addis Ababa.

Multiple outlets, including the Press Association, are now reporting that Ethiopian Airlines have confirmed that one Irish citizen was among the passengers on board flight ET 302. The airline confirmed in a press conference earlier on Sunday that as many as 33 nationalities were aboard the flight.

None of the passengers have yet been publicly named.

The Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that they are aware of this matter and are available to provide consular assistance if needed.
