Tragic news.

A 38-year-old Irish man has died following a fatal road traffic collision in Australia.

The man has been named by KCLR as Seamus Walsh, originally from Ballyhale in County Kilkenny, who had been living in Australia with family for a number of years.

According to reports, he was travelling by truck on a highway near New South Wales on Thursday night (25 July) when he collided with another vehicle.

Details of the incident are still emerging at time of writing.

In a statement, the New South Wales Police Force notes that emergency services were called to the Pacific Highway, south of Nabiac near Forster, around midnight on Friday following reports that two B-double trucks had collided.

The driver of the second vehicle was taken to John Hunter Hospital and is described as being in a stable condition.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
