An Irish man in his 60s has reportedly died after he fell from the balcony of a five-star hotel in Thailand.
It is understood the man was staying at a hotel in the beach resort of Pattaya, located on the country's eastern Gulf.
He reportedly fell from the balcony in the early hours of Monday, August 19.
In a statement to JOE on Tuesday afternoon, a spokesperson for the Department of Foreign Affairs said: "The Department of Foreign Affairs is aware of the death and is providing consular assistance.
"As with all consular cases, the Department does not comment on the details of any specific case."

Local reports say authorities are waiting to review CCTV footage to determine the circumstances of the incident.
Pattaya is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Thailand, behind Bangkok and Phuket, and is known for its beach and nightlife
The man's death follows a similar incident last month, where an 11-year-old Irish girl died after falling from a balcony in Majorca in July.
