The former hurler’s funeral took place this week.

The funeral of young Irish man and former hurler Adam Walsh took place this week.

From Clonmel in Tipperary, the RIP.ie page for Mr. Walsh says that he “passed away unexpectedly” in Malaga Hospital in Spain on 19 October.

This was after he was allegedly assaulted during a holiday, according to multiple reports.

It has also been reported that two people have been arrested in connection with the alleged incident.

His RIP.ie page reads: “Adam has saved lives through his organ donation.

“Predeceased by his baby cousin Luke Troy.

“He will be deeply missed by his heartbroken parents Audrey and Alan, brothers Jamie and Scott, the family dog Bella, girlfriend Leah and his pet Lexi, his grandparents Ann, Noelie, Eleanor and Denny, aunts, uncles, cousins and all those who knew Adam.”

Mr. Walsh’s funeral took place in Clonmel earlier this week.

This was as many took to the condolences section of the RIP.ie page to pay tribute to Adam.

One message read: “Adam was such a generous lad, ready to lend a hand at the drop of a hat, which he always did with a smile and a joke. His loss is incalculable.

“Yet, his departure from this world was marked with a wonderful legacy to some other families by his life-changing organ donation.”

Another person wrote: “Adam was a lovely young fella who I used to meet regularly down in Clonmel Swimming Pool. Many a laugh and a chat we had down there.

“He will be sadly missed and a big loss. Keep lifting those weights up there in heaven, boy.”

A third said in a message to Adam’s family: “There are no words to express how very sorry I am for your loss. Adam was such a kind, beautiful young man with an infectious smile. There have been lots of tears shed by people thinking of your pain and loss.

“It was truly a pleasure knowing Adam. Holding you all close in my thoughts and prayers at this heartbreaking time.”

St. Mary’s Hurling & Camogie Club, where Mr. Walsh was a former player, also paid tribute to the young man.

It wrote: “Our thoughts, prayers and condolences go to the Walsh family upon the sudden and tragic loss of their son Adam.

“Adam, a former player and County Minor winner with the club, was full of fun and energy with a zest for life and his family and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.”
