Irish radio legend Tony Fenton has died

Very sad news

Joe Harrington

He’ll be remembered as one of the best in the business.

One of the most recognisable and most loved radio DJs in Ireland, Tony Fenton, has died today aged 53.

Fenton has passed away after a long battle with prostate cancer.

He made his name on RTÉ 2fm, where he spent 18 years, before moving to Today FM back in 2004.

His afternoon show on Today FM was hugely popular as he played the biggest hits of the day as well as breaking the best new music.

He’s a huge loss to broadcasting in Ireland, and all of us here in JOE.ie would like to pass on our condolences to his family and friends.

RIP Tony.
